Plug in children per class and educators by competency (A & B). The simulator checks every classroom against the proposed capacity & staffing standards and tells you when to hire, train, or reallocate children — floor by floor, exactly as the building is organized.
| Class | Age group | Capacity | Minimum staffing | Extra support |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dreams | 6 m – 1 y 2 m | 6–12 m: max 6 · 12 m–1 y 2 m: max 8 | 1 Educator (Competency A or B) + 2 Caregivers — min. 3 adults at all times | Nurse assigned to the infant section; if absent, another adult must replace her immediately |
| Sparks | 1 y 2 m – 1 y 8 m | 8–10 children · hard max 10 (balcony classroom) | 1 Competency A + 1 Competency B + 1 Caregiver (or an additional B) | 1 Floor Assistant shared across the Sparks / Stars / Étoiles floor — time split equally between classes |
| Stars & Étoiles | 1 y 8 m – 2 y 3 m | 10–12 children, per classroom size | 1 Competency A + 2 Competency B | |
| Third Floor | 2 y 3 m + | 10–12 children, per classroom size | 1 Competency A + 2 Competency B | 1 Floor Assistant dedicated to the graduating floor |
Settling-period rule (Third Floor): if a classroom operates with only 2 adults, enrollment should stay at max 10 during the first weeks; once children are settled and space allows, it may gradually rise to 12. Capacity always depends on developmental needs, room size, and supervision demands (meals, toileting, naps, transitions) — staffing should let educators run the room independently, without draining the floor assistant.
